Monday Mantra:: The Time Is Now

Monday Mantra The time Is Now

We notice it most for big events. We spend weeks or months planning all the details, we run around collecting this and that and we toss and turn the night before the big day wondering if we’ve forgotten something. Then the day comes and when you wake up in the morning, you’re excited, you’re nervous. The day flies past and before you know it, you’re exhausted from the fun day you’ve had and you’re tucking yourself back into bed again.

I realised at the end of the day, I spent all day running from this person to that person at the event. I didn’t stop all day. And here’s the reason why: The time was always now. I was always in the moment, not thinking what else I needed to do, not who else I needed to speak to, I was just going with the flow of wherever the day and the guests took me. I had a whole lot of fun not worrying about anything but being present. In doing so, It made me acknowledge all the lovely people I have in my life, I was grateful that they could share this time with us. And then it dawned on me that in everyday situations like work, like family life and social life, I get to spend time with these lovely people but I don’t always appreciate it. I realised that I am sometimes thinking about what else needs doing or where I could be or what else I could be doing with the time.

So, this week, I will be practising staying in the moment and appreciating the time I get to spend with the people I surround myself with at work, at home and out and about. I think it will make for a nice, enjoyable week of fun and help to bring every day life back into the present moment.

    The Time Is Now.

Monday Mantra:: There is joy in the vision

Monday Mantra There is joy in the vision

We all begin a new venture, a new job, a dream, a new holiday by envisioning what the end result will be. We see success, relaxation, enjoyment and fun.

What often happens is that the pursuit of the dream becomes tiresome, it starts to feel like a have to, rather than a want to and we begin to feel frustrated and disillusioned by the process of getting to where we want to be.

Here’s the thing. We forget that there is joy in the vision. We shift our focus on to the details (which does have to happen in order to make these things happen) and we forget to hold the vision of the result we’re looking to achieve.

This is where vision boards are so handy. They remind us of the grand plan, the feelings, the experiences, the end result we’re striving to achieve. Today, I’m going to stop a few times throughout my day and imagine my vision and what it will feel like when I’m there. What’s one thing you can do for yourself today that will remind you of the joy in your vision?

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Support Myself

Monday Mantra I Choose To Support Myself

People are amazing. They can be so positive, so encouraging and supporting. Unfortunately, we tend to show this support to everyone around us, sometimes going above and beyond to show it and yet we do not offer the same compassion to ourselves.

Instead, we talk down to ourselves, we say things to ourselves that we would not say to a friend who needed encouragement, we hold ourselves back from opportunities, we step away from self care, we beat ourselves up over situations that could not have been helped, we tell ourselves we could have done better, we tell ourselves that we should be doing something else, or we shouldn’t be doing something. We judge ourselves and belittle ourselves right when we need to be own best friend and offer words of encouragement and support.

If we don’t support ourselves, if we don’t back ourselves, if we don’t believe in ourselves, then we reinforce the feelings like no-one supports us, no-one backs us and that no-one believes in us and eventually, the people around us will begin to prove our own perception.

If you change your perception of yourself, begin supporting yourself, your abilities and believe in yourself, then eventually, the people around us will begin to prove that perception and support you too.

I know which one I’d like to choose. I choose to support myself.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Read The Signs

Monday Mantra I Choose To Read The Signs

Most people are unaware of the signs that surround them all day, every day. The universe is always trying to get out attention. Sometimes, it’s simply to say “hey, I’ve got your back” and sometimes it’s more of a “If you keep focusing on this, I’ll keep sending it your way” or even a “This is something you need to be aware of”.

The form of signs is many and varied. They come to you in numbers, colours, shapes, animals, words and songs. The possibilities are endless. What characterises them as signs is their repetitiveness and consistency.

    For example:

Last week, on my into work, I had a small spider in the car. When I go into work, there 3 on my desk and when I got home, there was one on the lounge room floor. Because there were so many in such quick succession, all in the one day, I saw it as a sign and did some research on Spiders as animal totems.

The week prior, I was finding feathers in random places, including one placed on my car windscreen even though it had been parked in a garage all day.

I’m currently seeing the number sequence 808, EVERYWHERE! which is all about the manifestation of all that I need being supplied to be in abundance. (see Doreen Virtue’s Angel Numbers App for more information).

I had last week, two separate people who do not know one another mention Teal Swan and Blessing their food in their own unique ways that felt right for them. These were not coincidences. For me, this is clear guidance from the universe telling me how to proceed.

What signs have you been getting recently? How have you chosen to follow those signs? How do you read your signs?

By reading the signs, we get a sense of interconnectedness with all of life and the universe, it makes us feel uplifted and as a result, we naturally attract a happier, more uplifting day into our lives.

Today, choose to read the signs.

Monday Mantra:: I Trust That I Am Enough

Monday Mantra I Trust That I Am Enough

It’s funny how we as humans fall into this trap of needing to prove ourselves. We work extra hours, we fret when we haven’t crossed anything off of our to do list (even when we’ve been running around doing things all day that relate to the “to do’s”) and we beat ourselves up if something doesn’t go to plan.

I think perhaps that this is because on some level, we’re trying to prove to everyone else around us that we’re good enough to be doing that job or to be in that relationship. But there’s no point in proving this to others if we don’t believe it ourselves. Often, we want to prove it to others because deep down, we feel like we’re not good enough (regardless of how good we actually are).

Sometimes, this pattern plays out even if we’re single or unemployed. If we think we’re not good enough, then the universe and other people will reflect that belief back to us.

Here’s the thing though. We are all good enough. If we weren’t good enough, we wouldn’t be in that job or in that relationship so we are good enough. If you’re single, think about all the compliments you’ve received from friends, family and ex-partners – these are all more than good enough qualities to bring into a new relationship. If you’re currently unemployed, look at all the qualities and skills you’ve got listed on your resume. You put them there for a reason, usually because you feel like they are your skills and qualities – these are your “more than good enough” skills and attributes.

I’m not saying that there’s never room for improvement but improvement needs a strong foundation to launch off of. Today, begin by trusting that the work you do, the love you give, the support you offer, the knowledge you have and that you are indeed enough.

Monday Mantra:: How Does It Get Better Than This?

Monday Mantra How Does It Get Better Than This

We’ve all been stuck in a rut, stuck in a day, week, month or year where it feels like nothing changes and all we get is one not-so-great day after another. It’s not easy to pull yourself out of these cycles but with a few little tweaks, it can be done slowly but surely.

This monday mantra will assist and it works three-fold:

    1. How does it get better than this – not the word “HOW”. This is the first key. It says, I know it gets better than this so how does it get better than this?
    2. This mantra shifts you away from “urgh, why does this always happen?” to more of an “okay, that happened, how does it get better than this?”. It prompts you to take action and actually think about a way you can make it better and then it also ignites part 3.
    3. It asks this question of the universe too, each and every time you think it or say it. Knowing that the universe is always responding in some way, shape or form then this mantra may just become one of your new best friend. it’s about reinforcing the positive, that there is something better, so show me how it gets better than this.

You’ll find that initially, when you ask the question “How does it get better than this?” it will still feel like it comes from a place of frustration but the more you use it, the better it feels and the more things begin to turn out better than expected until eventually, it’s like you’re playing a game with the universe that says “Hey – that was awesome, now how does it get better than this?” and it feels exciting and thrilling and it’s a whole lot of fun too.

As always, download and save this Monday Mantra Image to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, please share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to See Every Job As My Dream Job

Monday Mantra I See every job as my dream job

It can be soul destroying to be in a job that isn’t your passion. I know this first hand and have struggled with this personally. It’s tiring to hold on to that frustration. It’s aggravating to get up every morning knowing you’re headed to a role that isn’t your ideal role. It can be the most frustrating when that feeling  begins to creep through every part of your life, it’s like it breeds more frustration. But there is a way of changing this energy around so that you can continue with the job you need to do now in order to get to where you want to be later. And this is how:

Choose to see every job as your dream job.

How does this work? It’s a subtle energetic shift in perception. If you view every job you currently do as your dream job, you treat it as a dream job, your results increase and your sense of satisfaction increases which means that you naturally attract people and opportunities to you that will give you a foot in the door to your dream job.

Think about it. How do people who don’t like their job come across to you? Do they make you want to buy from them? Do they make you want to return to their business? Do you feel excited to call them when you need to? Not really. So if this is the case then, naturally the opposite is true too.

The next step is to start looking at how your current role might actually be preparing you for your dream job. What if you need to know how to print and bind documents for that dream job? What if you need to know how to create an online booking system for your own business when you have the capital to begin?

Finally (and we’ll talk about this later this week in a separate post), we need to release our loyalty to others and embrace our loyalty to ourselves. That is, not feeling compelled to stay in a role when we feel we owe it to someone else.

Lets begin today by choosing to see every job as our dream job. Photocopying – it’s your dream job. Running errands – it’s your dream job. Stacking the dishwasher at work – it’s your dream job. Answering the phone – it’s your dream job.

Then, after some time, watch how your day gets better and eventually how your opportunities get even better.

Monday Mantra:: It’s Safe To Ask For What I Want

Monday Mantra I Safe to ask for what I want

Oh this one haunts me. It’s a little something I’ve been working on for so many years and just when I think i’ve got it all sorted, another shade pops up for me to work through. But i’ve noticed that it’s also a common theme through a number of my clients at the moment too.

The thing to remember with this mantra is simple. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Now, it’s not always easy to shift this when we’ve had so many years of practice of not asking for what we want. But it can be shifted. Begin with asking yourself: What do I want?

Then, start with asking the universe for what you want.

Then, with small items like “I would like Mango Chicken Salad for dinner, can we have that tonight?”. (it seems really little but this is actually really big because

    1. You’re identifying what you want AND
    2. you’re asking for what you want.

So practice this today with cups of tea or coffee, practice with dinners and work your way up to the big stuff. When you get to the big stuff, have a look at this Monday Mantra and remind yourself that “It’s safe to ask for what I want.”

As always, download and save this Monday Mantra Image to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, please share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Invest in My Trust Fund

Monday Mantra I Choose To Invest In My Trust Fund

This Monday Mantra is influenced by a story that Caroline Myss tells of a woman and her husband. (I cannot remember the exact story, so I’ll give you the basic idea using what I can remember of the story).

The gentleman was looking at their bank account and was concerned because according to their statement, they had nothing there. $0. All their savings were gone and there was literally no money left in their account. When he mentioned this to his wife, she said “Well, what about the trust fund?”. To which he replied that it had indeed all appeared to be gone. The wife then said “No, lets make some deposits into our TRUST fund. Let’s send out some positive thoughts and prayer and trust that this will all work out fine.” And it did. A few days later, all their money was returned into their accounts. It had been a bank error all along.

The point is that sometimes, we can be so busy looking at the problem, over and over again until it becomes the dominating thought and eventually all the things that surround us are viewed from our pessimistic scope. But the moment we begin to start depositing and investing into our trust fund, trusting that everything will work out in the right timing for everyone involved is exactly when we begin to see the return on our investment.

So, today make an effort to invest in your trust fund. You do this with today’s mantra as a beginning point. If you’re a creative or you just like the idea, create a jar for your trust fund. Instead of putting gratitude notes in, put in reasons why you trust that everything will work out fine. You could put in “I know that everything will work out fine because I’m getting signs from the universe that it will” or “I know everything will work out fine because it did last time” etc etc. Make it something meaningful for you.

Choose to invest in your trust fund.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to See Beyond What Is

Monday Mantra I Choose To See Beyond What Is

It’s so easy sometimes to get caught up in your current situation. We focus on how it doesn’t meet our needs or wants, we focus on how it makes us feel in this less than ideal circumstance. But when it comes to actuating change, seeing beyond what is, is the key.

We get what we focus on. Focussing on chaos will show you more chaos, focusing on lack of space, will show you lack of space, focussing on a smooth running office will show you a smooth running office and focussing on all the money you do have, will show you more and more money. It works both in the negative and the positive. So, by choosing to see beyond what is (currently) and choosing to see all the fabulous positive things that you’d like for your future, you can begin to shift your current circumstance.

Yes, you may have less space than you would like, or you may currently have some health concerns but being able to see beyond these will help propel you forward into a future you desire. See yourself in a large, open space. See yourself in perfect health, out and about doing what you love. If you can see yourself doing these things, then it’s possible to get there.

The next trick is to feel it. Really feel what it feels like to be in that wide, open space. Imagine what it feels like in eery cell of your being. Imagine what it smells like, what it sounds like. The more detail you can add, the better.

This also works like the good ‘ol Gratitude effect. Listing all the things you like or can be grateful for about your current experience or situation can begin the shift in your thoughts and feelings which will make looking for the ideal future easier and more effective. The less attached we are to our current situation, the more free we are to invite our ideal situation in.

What in that circumstance can you be grateful for? (write them down and look at them often throughout the day).

If you could see beyond where that situation is at the moment, where would you like to see it evolve to?

What’s the ideal outcome for you?
