Monday Mantra:: It’s safe for me to say no

    Monday-Mantra-Its-safe-for-me-to-say-no

I’ll be honest here – I tend to be someone who says yes to a lot of invitations and requests. I consider everyone else’s opinion of me and everyone else’s feelings before my own. Then I resent them for making me do something I didn’t really want to do. The key here is of course that I chose to do it but that fact gets hidden under everyone else’s priorities because I hide it there.

Did you know that a lot of people actually appreciate you saying “no” from the get go rather than cancelling at the last minute?

Be clear about what you want. Make a list of all the things you want to achieve, all your short-term gaols, your long term goals and even your day to day stuff you just want to do.  Then, look at each invitation or request and if it doesn’t match up with what you want or if what you want can’t be rescheduled to fit in some spontaneous invitation, then it’s okay to say no. And be honest with your answer too. It’s okay to say “look, to be honest, I really had my heart set on doing ABC today so I’ll have to say thank you for thinking of me, but no thank you”.

This habit of saying yes for everyone else’s sake is not an easy one to change but it can be done. I am still working on this one myself.

Monday Mantra:: A perceived small change can make a big impact

    Monday-Mantra-Small-change-big-imapct

Known as a divine paradox. What looks big is small, what looks small is big. Just because something appears to be a mountain, it is very likely a molehill. What appears to be a small gesture can very well mean the world to someone. Never underestimate the power of small things.

One of my favourite quotes is:

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, then you’ve never been in bed with a mosquito.”

Adding what seems to be a small “one 20 minute walk per week” into your routine may well be paving the way for a big shift in your weight.
A small change in the way you talk about money can pave the way for a big energetic shift in your finances.
A small smile to a stranger has the ability to change their perception on their whole day.

The same goes when you’re on the receiving end. A small gift has the potential to change your life for the better, even if you can’t see it in that moment. A perceived small pay rise has the ability over time to change your perceptions on how you’re valued and have a flow on effect to those around you and possibly to a bigger pay rise next year.

The other week, I bought myself a bunch of flowers for completing a big transformative study week and everyday for  a week afterwards, I felt great walking into my kitchen to see a beautiful bunch of flowers on the kitchen table. It shifted my whole week into beginning each day with a positive thought.

What small thing can you do for yourself or for someone else today that has the potential to make a big difference in yours or someone else’s life?

Monday Mantra:: I Align Myself and My Life With My Dreams

    Monday-Mantra-Alignment

So many times, I come across people (myself included) where they want something so much that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to get something. Lets use Money as an example because it’s a common one.

Say for instance that you desperately want or need money to fuel your dream. You’re working hard at a job and saving diligently but every time you get to a certain level, you spend it without even worrying about the consequences at that point in time. And then, it’s lather, rinse, repeat every time you get to that same point of savings.

Consider this: How do you feel about people with money generally? DO you feel like they’re greedy, do you feel like they’re not nice people? Do you feel like they’re shallow?

Now consider this: How do you expect to have a lot of money if you’re constantly thinking that people with money are greedy, not nice or shallow? Try turning that belief around by thinking about all the positive things about people who have lots of money. For example: People with money get to help others with money when they choose to. People with money have great wardrobes, people with money are great ambassadors for charity work. etc. Choose one that’s important to you. As Abraham Hicks says, “A Belief is only a thought you keep thinking” – so choose a better feeling thought and feel your dreams, thoughts and beliefs all come into alignment with your dreams. Remember too that this applies to all dreams, to work, to money, to relationships etc.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: With Faith, All Things Are Possible

    Monday-Mantra-Faith

As dream chaser, it’s so important not to lose faith even when it seems like all is lost, like that horizon is too far away, when it feels like it will never come together, it’s the perseverance to get through those times that empowers the dream, it drives it, it pulls it closer and it makes realising it all the more sweeter.

I’ve seen many clients recently who are feeling like all the work they’re putting in, just doesn’t feel like it’s getting anywhere. Yet, I can see a shift in their energy, I can see the transformation from the inside. They look lighter, more sparkly and their outlook has shifted, which means that it’s only a matter of time before the transformations are seen in their outer world.

Keep up the faith, invest in your “trust fund” and you’ll find the journey towards your dream so much more enjoyable.

    Look for the Number 32
In Doreen Virtue’s Angel Numbers, when the number 32 show up often for you, especially when you notice it a number of times in one day means that you’re being told to keep the faith.

Notice songs, notice what people are saying (even when they don’t know what’s going on for you) they will often have a message there for you.

Remember, with faith all things are possible.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: It’s Safe for Me To Be Human

    Monday-Mantra-being-human

Children have this knack of being themselves. When they’re happy, they are outwardly happy and joyous. When they’re sad, they cry. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood though, we’re taught to pretend that we’re okay, even if we’re not. We’re taught to be calm even when we’re happy.

Often as adults, we find ourselves in not so great circumstances and we push through, pretending that we’re fine when we’re not and thinking that we have to hold ourselves together that we can’t be unwell or we can’t be upset because people will think less of us. We go to work when we’re sick even though we know it’s important to look after ourselves, we get it in our mind that a business is more important, that something or someone outside ourselves is more important than us and our own wellbeing?!

The fact is that being vulnerable is actually okay. News flash: we’re all human. We’re not perfect because it’s in our nature to always be striving for more, so why deny ourselves of who we really are, our authentic selves? We’re all human. We laugh, we cry and sometimes we get sick and you know what, we don’t need to pretend we’re okay if we’re not, we can cry if we feel so inclined and we can certainly ask for help.

I hear this so often from clients:

“Is it silly that I feel scared to speak up?”
“Is it vain to want to look good?”
“Is it weird that I’m worried about what other people think?”

The lists go on but my answer is always the same – “No it’s not – you’re human, just like every other person on the planet so you’re not alone in this.”

Today, I want you to acknowledge your humanity and the humanity of those around you. Keep an eye out for those who seem to be keeping themselves, their true self at bay and encourage them to be themselves – lead by example.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Use Positive Language

Today’s Monday Mantra is a pretty important one. It seems simple and it seems like it wouldn’t really be life changing but I can guarantee you that it is in fact life changing.

Here’s the thing. Your body remembers the last word you use. So imagine that all day, every day when someone asks you how you are, you say “Not bad”. Your body remembers the “bad” and each time you say it, you reinforce that word into your body’s cellular system. The same goes for when someone says “thank you” – a lot of people tend to use the term “No worries” or “no problem”. Your body remembers “Problem” or “Worries”. Be aware too that the people you say these phrases to also hear these words and it can be energy draining for them too.

Personally, as a practitioner, I hear these terms all day every day from clients and I am constantly rephrasing them for my clients  so that it helps them to build their energy up and reminds them to use more positive language and it helps me to not be drained by the words they use.

Consider phrases that get thrown around these days like:

    – Fully sick
    – That’s so depressing
    – Does my head in
    – Such a pain in the neck
    – etc etc etc

Consider how these literally might effect your energy and your body. Lots of people use affirmations to boost their energy and manifest their desires. The phrases above, when used often become just like affirmations. So choose your phrases wisely.

So here’s a little fun exercise to do this week to start training yourself (and those around you) into some positive language habits.

    – Instead of saying “Not bad” when someone asks you how you are, try “good” or “less than great”

    – Instead of saying “No worries” or “No problems”, try “It’s a pleasure” (my personal favourite) or “you’re welcome”.

Then, take notice of how you feel at the end of the day after using these new terms and see if you can further enhance it by finding some new phrases for other common sayings you use that might be less than fabulous.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Trust in my Abilities

Monday-Mantra I trust in my abilities

It’s so very easy to get caught up in what you don’t know, in what you could know and what you think you should know that sometimes you forget how much you actually know. Just because it’s not in the same context of someone else’s knowledge, it doesn’t mean you’re not smart or intelligent. It simply means that you know it in another way or you’re intelligent in another way that others aren’t as switched on around. Never underestimate what you do know and although it’s easy to forget sometimes, don’t compare yourself to others because, like every other person on the planet, they too are probably concerned about their knowledge and comparing themselves to you too.

Trust in your own abilities, whatever they may be. You’re an intelligent person and people are intelligent on many and varied levels for a very good reason. Share your knowledge.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: To Teach is To Learn

    Monday-Mantra-to-teach-is-to-learn

Today is a special day. Today, I embark on some faculty training so that I can teach Kinesiology next year. It is both exciting and nerve wracking. I teach my clients tools of the trade all the time. I teach them tools I’ve picked up along the way and I teach them new tools I’ve developed myself. So teaching is nothing new for me. The most amazing part of teaching people these things is perhaps the benefit I get from it too. Not only do I really have to know what i’m talking about (learning) but I need to understand it from a “hey, I use this technique myself” perspective.

You see, I tend to forget that I know a lot about health, wellbeing and spirituality and I forget that there are people out there who are just opening up to these things. So when I teach, I teach myself that everyone is learning (including myself) and that what I teach on a day to day basis is what I need to learn on any given day.

For example, If i find myself referring clients to a particular meditation, It’s often a good sign that I too need to delve back into that meditation. If I hear myself recommending a way of communicating, then that’s usually my tell tale sign that I too need to consider how I am communicating in my life.

There is a lot we can learn from teaching others so it’s a win-win. They get the benefit and you get to learn something too. Next time you find yourself giving advice to others, consider how you too might use that same advice. You might be surprised at how spot on and appropriate your own advice really is.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: It’s Only Resistance That Makes Me Measure

    Monday-Mantra-Resistance

This little mantra comes from Abraham Hicks work. It’s a line that jumped out at me a few weeks back that I incidentally wrote up on our kitchen whiteboard but erased soon after. Today, I find myself pondering it a little more.

To be honest, I’m not sure what it means for me yet. I’ve just become aware that of late, I have been comparing myself against other people, I have been measuring myself in terms of weight, in terms of ability, in terms of just about everything really. With this in mind, I thought it would be a great monday mantra to share with you all.

Is there somewhere in your life that you are measuring yourself against others? or against yourself? And if so, what is it that you are resisting that is making you measure?

I myself am going to ponder this mantra a little more over the next week to see what answers lie in it for me.

PS – for those of you who read my last monday mantra, I’ve actually put weight on and I suspect that this is because I haven’t put out enough spiritual knowledge yet and also why this week’s monday mantra is playing on my mind.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Pay Attention to All Aspects of my Being

    Monday-Mantra-I-pay-attention-to-all-aspects

Firstly, let me apologise for the lateness of this Monday Mantra (on a Tuesday).

The delay was not intended but as I typically share my own journey through these mantra’s I wanted to be sure it was something I resonated with before I shared it (as I always do).

Yesterday was a busy and very long day. Largely to my own over thinking tendency. I had been mulling over the scales. I had worked really hard last week at the gym, I had been pretty good with my food and serving sizes and I had been in a pretty good headspace too. I just couldn’t understand why (again) my efforts were fruitless.

Thankfully, I had a Kinesiology session booked in and it was clear that this was to be my theme and goal for that balance.

“I now focus on my health and fitness on all levels”.

Now, in Kinesiology, we look at all aspects of the person – the physical/structural, the Nutritional/Chemical and the Mental/Emotional/Spiritual aspects.

I was missing the spiritual aspect too earth bound for this one (a rarity for someone who loves having her head in the clouds with the angels and all things spiritually energetic).

Turns out, on a spiritual level what I am holding on to is Knowledge. That is, I keep filling up and filling up on information, on books, on audio programs, on study and letting it all stick, not sharing it as liberally as I should in order to attain and maintain the metaphysical balance in my body. There were a few fears to acknowledge and break through around how this information would be shared including public speaking and being my true spiritual self and some Clematis flower essences for getting my vibration back into my spiritual self. All this physical, earthly work I was doing was being negated by the fact that I had neglected my spiritual side.

SO, next time you feel like you’re not getting results (in whatever it may be) begin looking at all aspects of the situation, of the body, of the being and see if there is actually an area you might be skimming on. It just might hold the key to your success.

PS – I’ll let you know how I go with the scales next week once i’ve gotten some of this spiritual Knowledge out.
