    Night Light

A flash of inspiration came over me just now. It is called Night Light. Remember being scared of the dark as a child? or perhaps (as it is for many) being scared of the dark now? Remember how having a night light on, always made the night more bearable? So I was lamenting how I receive a regular email at night (I presume because of the Australian time zone) and how it actually makes me feel calmer going to bed because I have this positive, calming note that I read right before bed. Then it occurred to me that perhaps some other people could with this proverbial night light too. Something to get them to sleep, something to put their mind at ease to get them through the night (both actual and proverbial). Watch this space over the next few days and weeks as I put together some Night Light thoughts and begin sending them out into the wide world. Let’s begin with this one. Night Light:: I know as I fall asleep tonight, that a beautiful new, happier, brighter day filled with great opportunities is lining up for me.   If you’re interested, the nightly emails I refer to above, they are called Notes From The Universe. You can sign up for them here (I personally love them).

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Listen to My Inner Voice

Monday Mantra I Choose To Listen to my inner voice

This one is not an easy one for some. It’s not even an easy one for those who are well versed in listening to their inner voice. We tend to get off track and follow what others think and profess to be the “truth” or fact or the best way forward.

When comes to our inner voice (i.e.; Intuition, Inner Guide or Higher Self, Gut Instinct etc) we tend to allow other people to override it with their opinions because we worry that we might be wrong, that might be perceived as being “away with the fairies” or that because there seems to be no logic to it, we haven’t agonised over the decision enough, that the answer cannot be that simple.

The thing is that the more we trust and follow this inner voice, the more it will guide us.

I come across so many people who are easily swayed by the opinions of those around them. I am also quick to get my clients to tap into what works for them, not what I think they should be doing or what is right for them. The only person who knows what is right for them is themselves. The only person who knows what’s right for you, is you.

So the next time you feel like you’re being pulled in many directions by the opinions of others, consider getting in touch with your Inner Voice and see what the best answer for you really is. Sit still, in a quiet space with your eyes closed, take a few deep breaths in and out and ask for guidance on the best way forward. It may come as a feeling, it may come as an instant thought of the best way forward or it may come later in the day or week as a series of signs (words, numbers, themes of conversation, “coincidences” etc).

Choose to listen to your inner voice.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose To See The Best in Myself

Monday Mantra I Choose To See The Best In Myself I have a great number of clients who are completely oblivious to their fabulous qualities. Qualities like generous, like calm, like decisive, qualities like actually being willing to try new things (including new modalities). They all say things like “I shouldn’t have done that” or “I should have chosen to do this” or “that was a bad decision”. The truth is that we are all human. We all makes choices for ourselves with the information we have on hand at any given point in time. We cannot presume to know what each choice will give us or take from us.

What we do have a choice over, is how we see ourselves and how we talk to ourselves about these decisions. Instead of saying “I shouldn’t have chosen to do that, that was a stupid choice”, think about it more carefully. Did you do the right thing at the time with the information you had? and if not, look at why you chose it – maybe you were at a point where you were willing to try anything to get healthy again (that’s an honourable place to be – some people just give up, you chose to keep trying).

All we need to do sometimes is take step back and look at the situation from another perspective. It’s okay to make decisions that lead you down the garden path, you’re human (as we all are) but how you choose to see the path, how you choose to talk to yourself about that choice will make all the difference to what you find at the end of your path. Today, lets begin by choosing to see the best in ourselves. The best in our decisions, the best in our body, the best in our intellect and the best in our qualities. This will have a flow on effect in your life, your body and those around you.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose A Better Feeling Thought

Monday Mantra I choose a better feeling thought   Put simply, when you find yourself thinking not so nice things, feeling not so nice, choose a better feeling thought. The more you choose a better feeling thought, the more you give your mind, body and spirit and a chance to not only feel better, but to attract situations and reasons to feel even better. One naturally feeds into the other. Today, when you find yourself thinking something that doesn’t feel great, choose a better feeling thought. As always, download and save this Monday Mantra Image to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. Monday Mantra:: I Am Open To Fun Opportunities

Monday Mantra I Am Open To Fun Opportunities

Okay, so this mantra is all about being open. This one in particular is about being open to fun opportunities. I want new opportunities the year but I want them to be FUN!

My personal word for the year is Fun. It’s all about infusing fun into life. What’s your word for the year?

In order to infuse fun into life, I’ve realised (thanks to a 12 month year ahead oracle reading I did for myself) that I’m great at setting intentions but when it comes to being open and allowing myself to receive, I need more practice.

With the Monday Mantra above, use the beginning and then insert your own word of the year or intention. Here are some examples:

I am Open To Joyous Opportunities

I am Open To Radiant Opportunities

I am Open to Opportunities to Soar

I am Open to New Opportunities

What kinds of opportunities are you looking to invite into your life in 2015?

Monday Mantra:: I Am Worth My Time

Monday Mantra I Am Worth My TIme

Today was a good day. My beloved and I went out for a run and Frisbee throwing session before having breakfast at a local café and heading home before the day got too hot.

It actually got me thinking about how I use my time. I tend to fill it up with meaningless stuff like all the perceived “have to’s” and “should’s”. What I realised however is that over the last week or so, I’ve finally got back into the groove of giving myself time in the form of mediation, in the form of exercise and in the form of just hinging out, doing not much of anything at all.

For all the time I put into my work, all the time I dedicate to my studies, all the time I put into everything else, I’ve neglected to see that I too am worth my time and attention.

The time I spend at the gym or out on a run, is not a waste of time – it’s time well spent on my body. The time I spend in Meditation is not a waste of time – it’s time well spent on my mind and my over-all spirit. The time I spend pre-preparing my lunches for the week is actually time well spent on my nutrition and health.

I had lost that somewhere for quite some time and now here I am. Jumping up and down at myself, saying “pick me”. Why? Because I am worth my time!

Where in your life could you be spending a little more time on yourself, for yourself?

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Feel Good

    Monday-Mantra-i-choose-to-feel-good

I find myself getting worked up at having to run here and there throughout November and December. I sometimes get frustrated at feeling like I am never home, feeling like people take advantage of the holiday season and use it for an excuse to drink and fill our calendars with social events we can’t fit into our schedules. When I’m at my peak of frustration though, it’s usually about then that I “give up” and just go with the flow and enjoy whichever social occasion I’m at. But to be honest, that “giving up” is not what it seems to be. It’s actually a choice to feel good about the situation and a choice I could have made much earlier on in the piece.

The Human Super Power of Choice is one which gets forgotten way too quickly and way too easily.

Everyone has the power to choose. What to wear today, which way to go to work, what to have for lunch etc. We also have the power to choose what kind of life we want, what career we would like and how we respond to what life sends our way.

So, that means that you can choose to feel good while holiday shopping and you can choose to feel good while heading out to yet another holiday gathering. You can choose to not attend all of the social events. You can choose to attend them all. You can choose to do only the fun things if you wish. Change your holiday Have To’s into some Holiday Choose To’s today and see what difference it makes to your holiday season.

    Monday Mantra:: I Am

    Monday-Mantra-I-Am-Kinesiology

This one has appeared here before. And for good reason – it’s a good mantra! – I Am.

This time though, we’re going to use this mantra to remove all notions of labels. Removing of all notions of what others think of you, all ideas of what you may or may not think of yourself.

You simply are and that is more than enough.

    Lather, rinse, repeat: I Am.

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.

Monday Mantra:: I Allow Myself to Relax

    Monday-Mantra-I-Allow-Myself-to-relax

I’ve recently realised that I need practice relaxing. I’ve been on holidays the last two weeks and it wasn’t until then that I realised that I was constantly on a “I have to get this done” or “I can’t go out to that event because I have study to do” etc etc. While on holiday (with limited email access and phone calls) I became aware that really, that stuff CAN wait – if I choose to let it wait.

All these things I was getting worked up about because they were eating into time I “should be doing stuff” in when really, all I had to do was reschedule that “stuff” and allow myself to relax and enjoy where I was at the time.

Given that we’re coming up to the social / silly season, what can you reschedule so that you can allow yourself to relax and enjoy your holiday season?

Monday Mantra:: A change is as good as a holiday

    Monday-Mantra-change-is-as-good-as-a-holiday

    This saying holds true:

“A change is as good as a holiday.”

Much like a spring clean, a change can indeed create radical shifts in your world on an energetic level as well as an emotional level. When we change one thing, it changes how we feel and even how we interact.

Consider a change in hair style for example. It make you feel more confident and therefore, the way in which you interact with the world can change.

What about changing your living room around. Shifting the stagnant energy of furniture that has been sitting in the same place for years, can have a big impact on how you feel in the space as well as how you move within the space.

Much like after a holiday, you feel refreshed, having had that stagnant energy moved and new, relaxed energy infused.

Have a think about what subtle changes you can make today that might have the ability to change how you feel for the better. Perhaps your desk at work could do with some re-arranging, perhaps a new quilt cover set or maybe a new hair style or colour is in order?

As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it. When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.
