We all have “stuff”. Old stuff that keeps us locked in a holding pattern. It keeps us in the same old same old. It keeps us from moving forward and upward in life. It holds up back from the experiences we seek. It keeps us from the light said of life.
The only way to release your stuff is to look at it. I mean really look at it. Get to know it. Understand it. It’s not easy. In fact, it’s hard work. It’s actually super scary.
But it’s totally worth it.
If you don’t know what your stuff is, you can’t work with it or around it or in spite of it. You won’t recognise it when it sneaks up on you. You won’t see it coming when it leaps out in front of you.
You’ll hold back. You’ll keep yourself small and oh so quiet.
Unknown is scary. Known is not. Know your “stuff”.
Here’s how to begin….
When you find yourself saying no to something, ask yourself if you really don’t want to or if you’re just feeling out of sorts because it’s new and scary.
When you find yourself feeling awkward, ask yourself why that is.
Your “always” things will give you a clue too, what are the things that you say “ugh, I always…”. For example: I always start projects well but I never finish them. Or I always leave things to the last minute. Here’s one from my personal list: I always avoid looking in the mirror when other people are around (because on some level, I don’t want to be seen to be vain or overly concerned with how I look).
Have a play around with this today and see what “stuff” pops up for you.
When you choose to know your “stuff” you become an empowered person.
As always, download and save to your desktop or phone or print it and pin it somewhere you’ll see it (it’s actually a really dark picture, I’d recommend screen viewing as preference to printing all that ink!) . When you see it, say it. And if you know someone who would also benefit from this mantra, share it.
