Monday Mantra New Moment Resolutions

I heard this term in some Abraham Hicks audio recently and it has stuck with me since. At this time of year especially we begin looking into the year that is about to transition into the next and then we hastily begin making new year resolutions before the old year is out.

Besides the lack of real consideration behind them, there is something a little lacking in the “expected” response to the age old question “What’s Your New Year Resolution?”. There are the usual types like Travel destinations, lose weight and get fit as well as the visit more, travel more, do more, be more etc. There are a few things that suddenly have clicked for me at the mere mention of the New Moment Resolution.

  1. The definition of the word Resolution.
  2. The Lack of meaning in them and
  3. The insistence that we wait until the new year to begin


The Definition

Some people have missed the definition of a resolution. These are definitions as taken from thefreedictionary.com:

  1. The state or quality of being resolute; firm determination: faced the situation with resolution.
  2. firm decision to do something: made a resolution to get more exercise.
  3. course of action determined or decided on: His resolution is to get up early.
  4. The act of solving or explaining a problem or puzzle.

Often our “resolutions” are made in haste and only ever skim the surface of what we’re really striving for. “Lose weight” for example is too loose and open to interpretation and at the mercy of life happening around us.

What we could say is this: I’ll make small changes through out the year to improve my opinion of myself and my body image. It speaks more to the humanity in us. The fact is that often when we make a new year resolution, we don’t sit down and work out how we’re going to make it happen, we don’t project plan it working out all the possible things that could go wrong and working out how we can mitigate that risk. The fact is that we start off well meaning and when life or work get busy or complicated, it often falls out the window and we fall off the wagon so to speak. Making small changes means we get to appreciate small wins. Which builds our confidence. And this builds momentum. It also allows us to focus on our own sense of self, not someone else’s idea of what we should or should not be doing for ourselves.

Remember that a Resolution needs to be a decision for a course of action that fills you with determination and solves a particular “problem”.

Meaning
What does it mean to you if you say your resolution is to travel around the country more? If you were doing this already, how would it make you feel? What would it bring to your life and your experience?

If you’re revolution is to lose weight, then when you arrive at your goal weight or at your fitness goal, how will you feel? How will you feel about yourself? What qualities will it install in you? what do you gain emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically from achieving it?

Make your resolution meaningful for you. Include those meaningful feelings in your resolution.

Waiting for the New Year
Why wait? Why not begin now? Right now? If it’s important to you, it shouldn’t be something that waits for the new year. Why not work out what your resolution is, define it, give it meaning for you and then begin strategising? There is no time like the present and if it’s that important to us, then we owe it to ourselves to begin. Not next year, not next week and certainly not tomorrow. Begin it now.

Aks yourself: What will it take to achieve my resolution? Who do I need on my side for this? What do I need? How much time will it take given my current circumstances (time, family, work etc). How much do I want it? On a scale of 0 – 10 (o being not important at all to 10 being my number one priority for me this year) what importance is it to you? Do need any other help for this (Personal Trainer, Business Coach, Nutritionist or perhaps a Travel Agent)?

Write it down. Get a nice piece of paper and a marker or pen and write your resolution out like an affirmation. If you physically write it out, it seeps into your subconscious more easily. Write it and write it often.

Make a new moments resolution and get planning right now so that even if you don’t officially begin until the new year, you’ll be all set up and ready to hit the ground running from week one.

Monday Mantra I Choose To Read The Signs

Most people are unaware of the signs that surround them all day, every day. The universe is always trying to get out attention. Sometimes, it’s simply to say “hey, I’ve got your back” and sometimes it’s more of a “If you keep focusing on this, I’ll keep sending it your way” or even a “This is something you need to be aware of”.

The form of signs is many and varied. They come to you in numbers, colours, shapes, animals, words and songs. The possibilities are endless. What characterises them as signs is their repetitiveness and consistency.

For example:

Last week, on my into work, I had a small spider in the car. When I go into work, there 3 on my desk and when I got home, there was one on the lounge room floor. Because there were so many in such quick succession, all in the one day, I saw it as a sign and did some research on Spiders as animal totems.

The week prior, I was finding feathers in random places, including one placed on my car windscreen even though it had been parked in a garage all day.

I’m currently seeing the number sequence 808, EVERYWHERE! which is all about the manifestation of all that I need being supplied to be in abundance. (see Doreen Virtue’s Angel Numbers App for more information).

I had last week, two separate people who do not know one another mention Teal Swan and Blessing their food in their own unique ways that felt right for them. These were not coincidences. For me, this is clear guidance from the universe telling me how to proceed.

What signs have you been getting recently? How have you chosen to follow those signs? How do you read your signs?

By reading the signs, we get a sense of interconnectedness with all of life and the universe, it makes us feel uplifted and as a result, we naturally attract a happier, more uplifting day into our lives.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to See Beyond What Is

Monday Mantra I Choose To See Beyond What Is

It’s so easy sometimes to get caught up in your current situation. We focus on how it doesn’t meet our needs or wants, we focus on how it makes us feel in this less than ideal circumstance. But when it comes to actuating change, seeing beyond what is, is the key.

We get what we focus on. Focussing on chaos will show you more chaos, focusing on lack of space, will show you lack of space, focussing on a smooth running office will show you a smooth running office and focussing on all the money you do have, will show you more and more money. It works both in the negative and the positive. So, by choosing to see beyond what is (currently) and choosing to see all the fabulous positive things that you’d like for your future, you can begin to shift your current circumstance.

Yes, you may have less space than you would like, or you may currently have some health concerns but being able to see beyond these will help propel you forward into a future you desire. See yourself in a large, open space. See yourself in perfect health, out and about doing what you love. If you can see yourself doing these things, then it’s possible to get there.

The next trick is to feel it. Really feel what it feels like to be in that wide, open space. Imagine what it feels like in eery cell of your being. Imagine what it smells like, what it sounds like. The more detail you can add, the better.

This also works like the good ‘ol Gratitude effect. Listing all the things you like or can be grateful for about your current experience or situation can begin the shift in your thoughts and feelings which will make looking for the ideal future easier and more effective. The less attached we are to our current situation, the more free we are to invite our ideal situation in.

What in that circumstance can you be grateful for? (write them down and look at them often throughout the day).

If you could see beyond where that situation is at the moment, where would you like to see it evolve to?

Monday Mantra I choose a better feeling thought   Put simply, when you find yourself thinking not so nice things, feeling not so nice, choose a better feeling thought. The more you choose a better feeling thought, the more you give your mind, body and spirit and a chance to not only feel better, but to attract situations and reasons to feel even better. Monday Mantra:: I Align Myself and My Life With My Dreams

So many times, I come across people (myself included) where they want something so much that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to get something. Lets use Money as an example because it’s a common one.

Say for instance that you desperately want or need money to fuel your dream. You’re working hard at a job and saving diligently but every time you get to a certain level, you spend it without even worrying about the consequences at that point in time. And then, it’s lather, rinse, repeat every time you get to that same point of savings.

Consider this: How do you feel about people with money generally? DO you feel like they’re greedy, do you feel like they’re not nice people? Do you feel like they’re shallow?

Now consider this: How do you expect to have a lot of money if you’re constantly thinking that people with money are greedy, not nice or shallow? Try turning that belief around by thinking about all the positive things about people who have lots of money. For example: People with money get to help others with money when they choose to. People with money have great wardrobes, people with money are great ambassadors for charity work. etc. Choose one that’s important to you. As Abraham Hicks says, “A Belief is only a thought you keep thinking” – so choose a better feeling thought and feel your dreams, thoughts and beliefs all come into alignment with your dreams. Remember too that this applies to all dreams, to work, to money, to relationships etc.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to Use Positive Language

Today’s Monday Mantra is a pretty important one. It seems simple and it seems like it wouldn’t really be life changing but I can guarantee you that it is in fact life changing.

Here’s the thing. Your body remembers the last word you use. So imagine that all day, every day when someone asks you how you are, you say “Not bad”. Your body remembers the “bad” and each time you say it, you reinforce that word into your body’s cellular system. The same goes for when someone says “thank you” – a lot of people tend to use the term “No worries” or “no problem”. Your body remembers “Problem” or “Worries”. Be aware too that the people you say these phrases to also hear these words and it can be energy draining for them too.

Personally, as a practitioner, I hear these terms all day every day from clients and I am constantly rephrasing them for my clients  so that it helps them to build their energy up and reminds them to use more positive language and it helps me to not be drained by the words they use.

Consider phrases that get thrown around these days like:

– Fully sick
– That’s so depressing
– Does my head in
– Such a pain in the neck
– etc etc etc

Consider how these literally might effect your energy and your body. Lots of people use affirmations to boost their energy and manifest their desires. The phrases above, when used often become just like affirmations. So choose your phrases wisely.

So here’s a little fun exercise to do this week to start training yourself (and those around you) into some positive language habits.

– Instead of saying “Not bad” when someone asks you how you are, try “good” or “less than great”

– Instead of saying “No worries” or “No problems”, try “It’s a pleasure” (my personal favourite) or “you’re welcome”.

Then, take notice of how you feel at the end of the day after using these new terms and see if you can further enhance it by finding some new phrases for other common sayings you use that might be less than fabulous.

Monday Mantra:: I breathe in Allowing and I breathe out Resistance

I came across an Abraham Hicks Youtube video this morning that mentioned that resistance shows up in the form or emotions (your emotional guidance system) and when we don’t change the way we feel or change our thoughts, then eventually the body begins to show us physical symptoms of our thoughts as a physical prompting for us to look at the emotional thought components. It’s like escalating a problem through a help line. Eventually you get to the big boss who is able to sort it out for you but by then, you’re so worked up about the issue that it takes so long for the problem to be fixed. Really, what we want to do is have it looked at sooner so that the person you get through to on the help line is the only person you nee to talk to and then issue is corrected almost immediately, no escalation required.

In the video, it also mentions a way of bringing yourself into the present moment through breathing, it’s a way of focussing all your attention onto the present moment to release and resistance to the life you’re trying to create (i.e.; the Law of Attraction).

Try these ways of using breath to release resistance:

1. When you go for a walk, concentrate on your breathing and use today’s mantra as you do.

2. When you go for a run, either get yourself into the “zone” or as you run, use today’s mantra.

3. As you sit at your desk, take a few minutes just to notice your breathing. Count your in breath and out breath to a total of 10 and then start again. (this technique is taken from the Take Ten Series of Headspace – http://www.getsomeheadspace.com).

Monday Mantra:: It’s Only Resistance That Makes Me Measure

This little mantra comes from Abraham Hicks work. It’s a line that jumped out at me a few weeks back that I incidentally wrote up on our kitchen whiteboard but erased soon after. Today, I find myself pondering it a little more.

To be honest, I’m not sure what it means for me yet. I’ve just become aware that of late, I have been comparing myself against other people, I have been measuring myself in terms of weight, in terms of ability, in terms of just about everything really. With this in mind, I thought it would be a great monday mantra to share with you all.

Is there somewhere in your life that you are measuring yourself against others? or against yourself? And if so, what is it that you are resisting that is making you measure?

I myself am going to ponder this mantra a little more over the next week to see what answers lie in it for me.

 

PS – for those of you who read my last monday mantra, I’ve actually put weight on and I suspect that this is because I haven’t put out enough spiritual knowledge yet and also why this week’s monday mantra is playing on my mind.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose a Better Feeling Thought

I have a new fun habit I’m trying out. Every morning I listen to some Law of Attraction (LOA) videos. It just helps me to get in the happy space before I set out into the world for my day-to-day activities.

This little piece of information is inherent in the LOA process. Choose a better feeling thought.

As I’ve mentioned so many times before, we always have a choice so why not choose a better feeling thought too? For example:

I don’t really like my job, I’m annoyed at myself for choosing a job I really don’t like.
try
I love the money that comes in from this job
or
I appreciate having the money that this job pays me
and then
I chose this job for a very good reason at the time

The idea is to slowly make your way back to the positive feelings. We do this slowly so that the mind and body don’t resist it with doubt. It’s like coaxing your thought patterns into positivity with small, believable, truthful thoughts that gradually turn the thoughts away from the negative and move them towards the positive.

Give it a try. Lather, rinse repeat: I choose a better a feeling thought.

Monday Mantra:: I Allow Myself to Receive

Today’s mantra comes from an awareness that I came into this last week which has since become integral for a lot of my clients.

I Allow Myself to Receive

I came across an interview on the Super Soul Sunday with Debbie Ford. There were two lines in particular that piqued that awareness twinge. These two lines went something like:

  1. When I got your call, it wasn’t just a call, it was a higher call, you know?
  2. The greatest gift from this phase in my life is that I learnt how to receive love. For the first time, I really felt loved. I was afraid of being vulnerable. I was so busy giving, giving, giving and not receiving

Ordinarily these lines probably wouldn’t have had that same intensity of resonating with me but lately, I have been sensing that I have a bigger calling. I have also been doing a bit of work with the Law of Attraction. And I couldn’t work out what was holding me back with seeing results. That’s where the second line got me.

In the Law of Attraction, there is a law of allowing. That was my missing piece. I was creating, creating,creating and giving, giving, giving and not allowing myself to receive the results.

So my mantra since has been that I Allow Myself to Receive.

Last week, every single client I saw had this very same underlying key that was either holding them back, underpinning a pattern in their life or the turning point in their particular concern. It was key in areas of Money, Relationships and Weight Loss and Health (I’ll cover each them in more detail later in the week of how these patterns were playing out). Yes, there were other elements at play too however, this one line of allowing yourself to receive was present in each area.

Have a think about these in this order:

  1. Where in your life you do you not allow yourself to receive?
    (where do you say “no” to an offer of help?, Where do you hold back in relationships?, Where do you feel comfortable? think about how well you receive compliments too – this is something that I am personally working on).
  2. What is the result of not allowing yourself to receive? How do you feel? What do you not have? What do you not see?
  3. What are all the benefits that would come about if you allowed yourself to receive?

Now, repeat, repeat, repeat: I Allow Myself to Receive

Repeat this over and over for a few weeks and start to notice how your interactions start to change, how opportunities start coming your way and how mostly how you start to feel like there’s more give than take in your world.
