Monday Mantra:: There is joy in the vision

Monday Mantra There is joy in the vision

We all begin a new venture, a new job, a dream, a new holiday by envisioning what the end result will be. We see success, relaxation, enjoyment and fun.

What often happens is that the pursuit of the dream becomes tiresome, it starts to feel like a have to, rather than a want to and we begin to feel frustrated and disillusioned by the process of getting to where we want to be.

Here’s the thing. We forget that there is joy in the vision. We shift our focus on to the details (which does have to happen in order to make these things happen) and we forget to hold the vision of the result we’re looking to achieve.

This is where vision boards are so handy. They remind us of the grand plan, the feelings, the experiences, the end result we’re striving to achieve. Today, I’m going to stop a few times throughout my day and imagine my vision and what it will feel like when I’m there. What’s one thing you can do for yourself today that will remind you of the joy in your vision?

Monday Mantra:: I Choose to See Every Job As My Dream Job

Monday Mantra I See every job as my dream job

It can be soul destroying to be in a job that isn’t your passion. I know this first hand and have struggled with this personally. It’s tiring to hold on to that frustration. It’s aggravating to get up every morning knowing you’re headed to a role that isn’t your ideal role. It can be the most frustrating when that feeling  begins to creep through every part of your life, it’s like it breeds more frustration. But there is a way of changing this energy around so that you can continue with the job you need to do now in order to get to where you want to be later. And this is how:

Choose to see every job as your dream job.

How does this work? It’s a subtle energetic shift in perception. If you view every job you currently do as your dream job, you treat it as a dream job, your results increase and your sense of satisfaction increases which means that you naturally attract people and opportunities to you that will give you a foot in the door to your dream job.

Think about it. How do people who don’t like their job come across to you? Do they make you want to buy from them? Do they make you want to return to their business? Do you feel excited to call them when you need to? Not really. So if this is the case then, naturally the opposite is true too.

The next step is to start looking at how your current role might actually be preparing you for your dream job. What if you need to know how to print and bind documents for that dream job? What if you need to know how to create an online booking system for your own business when you have the capital to begin?

Finally (and we’ll talk about this later this week in a separate post), we need to release our loyalty to others and embrace our loyalty to ourselves. That is, not feeling compelled to stay in a role when we feel we owe it to someone else.

Lets begin today by choosing to see every job as our dream job. Photocopying – it’s your dream job. Running errands – it’s your dream job. Stacking the dishwasher at work – it’s your dream job. Answering the phone – it’s your dream job.

Then, after some time, watch how your day gets better and eventually how your opportunities get even better.

Your Dream Is Worth The Risk

I get to meet some pretty amazing people in my line of work. They don’t always know it but they are amazing, loving, generous and kind people. They’re people who want to chase their dreams. They dream of their own business, they dream of finding their purpose and they dream of being confident, of being calm and of being true to themselves. Their dreams are important to them and their dreams are inspiring to people like myself. Once in a while though, I come across someone who is inspiring on a whole new level. And not because of what they may have been through or because of what they want to accomplish but simply in the fact that they’ve come to me for help with their dream.

The thing with dreams is that we tend to feel like it’s a scary or risky thing to pour ourselves into our dream and it can be. Here are two of my favourite things (one quote, one poem which was read out at my year seven graduation in fact) around risk:

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud, became more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
– Anais Nin

Risk

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool,
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement,
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss
To love is to risk not being loved in return,
To hope is to risk despair,
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken because
the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing,
does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow,
But he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or live.
Chained by his servitude he is a slave
who has forfeited all freedom.

Only a person who risks is free.

– William Arthur Ward

So while it is scary to put yourself out there for your dream (whatever your dream is) there’s always a way to get there or to move towards it and if you’re not moving towards it yet, it’s also okay to be where you’re at until you’re ready for the next step.

So what about your dream? Is there anything holding you back from achieving your dream? Ask yourself if it’s worth the risk. Remember that a life of what if’s works both ways. What if you fail? but oh.. what if you succeed!?

How to look good – always

Okay – So I had a little sojourn into the fears this week. I was swamped by them until I heard the support from the universe in the form of songs.

She’s got the look – Roxette (“heavenly abound”)
If Ya Getting’ Down – Five (love that symbolically this song tells you if you’re doing what you love, then people naturally love you and what you offer the world).

The song that I talk about in this video (link below the video)

Here’s the song mentioned in the video:

Lining up down the street

When I first began at a new clinic, I expected and knew that I had a long line of clients waiting to see me at this new clinic. That’s what i’m here for. To help as many people as I can. So I knew that this clinic was where I was supposed to be. For weeks now, I have been a little frustrated because I could see a long line of people lining up outside the building waiting to see me at this clinic and yet I have only a few clients here and there.

It has only recently occurred to me that maybe i’m thinking of the wrong “people”. Let me explain.

I had a client the other week. They have never been to one of my clinics before and they were incidentally from interstate on business and just desperate to see a kinesiologist. So they booked in with me. Not an unusual occurrence at all except for the fact that for a few days leading up to that session, I had a woman who was hanging around me from the spirit world. The morning of the session, I tried a new tool that one of my kinesiologists had given me a few weeks prior to work out what it was this woman needed to say and to find out who she belonged to.

Fast forward to the session where this person was explaining that they felt like they had a group on the “other side”, on their side. That’s when I got the image of this woman and I knew she was here for them.

So I passed on the message. She was simply, sending love and reminding them that she was there and that they’d know by the hold on the shoulder. As it turned out – that hold on the shoulder was something the client had been feeling a lot lately.

What does this have to do with the people lining up to see me? Well, I think there might be a long line of people in the spirit world waiting to see me with their loved ones. So, I’m going to start honing my skills in that area so that when the spirit world starts orchestrating the clients, I can comfortably pass on the correct messages.

Monday Mantra:: I Choose To See The Bigger Picture

Monday-Mantra-See-the-bigger-picture

I choose to see the bigger picture.

I choose to see the bigger picture because it gives me a chance to choose a happier thought. It gives me the option to look at all of the elements involved before getting upset or angry about something.

I chose this mantra today because I realised this morning that not everyone sees the bigger picture. Some people only see the details of the ‘right then and there’. There is of course no right or wrong way, it’s entirely up to the individual’s perspective but the difference it can make in how you feel and the thoughts you choose is pretty amazing.

What brought this up this morning was a minor thing. A simple “hey, you forgot to get this from the supermarket” kind of remark. But I found myself thinking “but wait, I did the groceries, chopped vegetables and cooked for 3 hours yesterday so you have dinners for the week while I’m working late and all you can see is that I forgot one thing from the supermarket?”.

Where in life are you prone to seeing only the one detail in front of you? Where could you benefit from taking note of the bigger picture? Ask yourself:

1. Am I looking at this as an individual comment, event, incident? or
2. Am I looking at this in its entire context or bigger picture?

Choosing to see things in their context can often result in less stress for both yourself and any other people involved.

I choose to see the bigger picture.

As always, download and save the image to your phone, desktop or print and pin it somewhere and when you see it, say it and If you think someone else you know might benefit from this mantra, share it.

MONDAY MANTRA:: I am where & when I need to be

Monday-Matnra-When-and-Where small

It’s human nature to feel that we should be at some magical place of “the perfect weight”, in “the perfect job”, with “the perfect partner”, “be super busy with our new business”, “finished writing that book” etc etc.

Sometimes though in the midst of all the “should be” and the pushing for “what I want” we forget that we’re probably exactly where and when we should be. It’s a process and it’s okay to be in that process until the timing us right, until all the pieces of the puzzle are in place and until you’re ready to be where it is you are wanting to be.

You are where and when you need to be.

*note: the mantra image will be available here tonight for download (few technical difficulties). But perhaps that is where and when it needs to be 😉

Same Parrot, Different Feathers

Frustrating isn’t it? When you’re scouring the internet for new, fresh and cutting edge information on “How to (insert search terms here)” and all you get is the same information parroted back to you from a different source. Same Parrot, Different Feathers.

I’ve been doing a little research on writing books. I feel like I have a book in me and I wasn’t really sure where to start. BUT to be honest, all the internet searches bring up the same info that to be quite frank, is stuff I already knew. With the exception of Tim Grahl’s insights that is – very interesting content.

What does all this tell me? It tells me two things.

1. I already know everything I need to begin the process. When I’m ready for the next step, I’ll find what I need and
2. I need to ensure I’m not parroting too.

I want to shed NEW light on the wellness subject. I’m not sure how yet, besides “in a book”. But hey, I’ll get there – all in divine timing. Watch this space.

Monday Mantra:: I Am Brave Enough

How brave are you?

Sometimes, one of the bravest things we can do is to look at what’s really holding us back.

Her are some questions to get you thinking about what might be holding you back from achieving your goals:

  1. If you already had what you’re aiming for, if you already achieved that goal you set, what happens next?
  2. What’s the worst thing about achieving that goal?
  3. What are all the consequences that might happen as a result of achieving your goal?
  4. What is the scariest thing about aiming for your goal?
  5. What is the scariest thing about achieving your goal?
  6. What are all the “What if’s” around this goal?
(for example: What if I fail, What if I don’t achieve the results I’m looking for?, what if people think I’m crazy for even trying? What if my partner gives me an ultimatum – “me or your dream”? etc.)

Once you think you’ve come to the end of the list, go back and ask yourself these questions again. There’s always more there than in the first round of questioning.

These all take courage to look at. But once you know what all these what if’s are, what all the results may or may not be, it gives you the opportunity to look at them and to work through each of them. Knowing exactly what thought patterns you are dealing with is key to change.

The same works for business. Look at the patterns of behaviour that are holding the team or business back from achieving their goals. You might be very surprised to find a collective fear in there some where.

You’re brave enough to look at what’s holding you back, then be brave enough to go after your goals anyway!

Remember – download and save to your phone home screen. Every time you unlock your screen, repeat the mantra to yourself. I Am Brave Enough!

Be brave enough to look at what's really holding you back.

Be brave enough to look at what’s really holding you back.

MONDAY MANTRA:: The Enough Series

Here’s a great mantra. This is one I am personally using at the moment. I came to a big awareness last week about responsibility. Long story short, turns out, my current pattern of not taking responsibility stems from a feeling of not feeling “enough” of something. Good enough, Brave enough, smart enough and the list goes on.

It’s a big awareness because this, I have since realised is the under current of almost every situation across work, family, relationships (especially with myself) and even money and spirituality.

Enter the Monday Mantra Enough Series. Week one is all about feeling good enough. Good enough to get that new job, good enough to put yourself out there, good enough to achieve your goals, good enough to go after your goals, good enough to be the best in your field and the list goes on.

Tell me what you’re focussing on being “good enough” for in the comments below and remember to save the image to your phone and repeat the mantra as you open unlock your phone and when you see the mantra on your home screen.

lather, rinse, repeat
