Hi, I’m Dana. Mother of five, one earth side. I never really wanted children until I did. And then instead of the romantic, magical notion I had of easily falling pregnant and announcing to surprised friends and family, I went on a 4 and half year trudge through the joy of conception through to the heartbreak of miscarriages and the pure despair of having to terminate a pregnancy due to issues with bub. When there was no medical reason why I couldn’t carry a baby to term, we turned to medicated cycles, IUIs and eventually IVF. And then, on our very last transfer of our very last embryo, we got our sweet baby boy.

Here’s one of things I learnt on my path to motherhood that I know for certain helped me bring our boy into this world: it’s easy to give away your power to doctors and numbers and friends and family who think they know better. It’s easy to give away your power for the dream of holding your baby in your arms. BUT its more fun and more magical if you harness your power and allow it to fuel the dream instead of handing it all over.

This is why we feel like it’s all out of our control through out the whole process of trying for a baby – of course it is. We gave all our power away!

By claiming back my power and plugging it back into myself, I found myself waaaay more relaxed in that last embryo transfer process and the result was our gorgeous baby boy.

{it doesn’t always have to be perfect} it’s so easy to fall into the trap of thinking you have to be perfect at everything. The meds, the foods, the exercise, the timing of intercourse, the positive mindset… the list goes on. {the opposite is also true}. The more you anchor into yourself and what lights you up, the easier the path to motherhood will feel. Part of that frustration is that you’ve given up all these things to get your baby. But it’s not working. That’s because your baby needs you to show them the way. They need you to show them that being more deeply you, more expansive you, more authentically YOU. Is actually the way of this world. You are not meant to give your power (your authenticity l, the things you love) away. What is one thing that you can claim back. One thing that will pull in more joy into your life right now, regardless if your baby is here or not. Is it a run? Is it art? Is it dancing? Is it a glass of wine with a slice of pizza? 🙋‍♀️ When that thought is sent out into the universe, it echoes and reverberates and then that energy finds its way to you. Some way, some how. And while we cannot know or see the when or the how, we can certainly hold on to the knowing that our hearts desire was heard and that the money it was decided that you want to become a mother, you are. Xxx {Don’t drag them along kicking and screaming, you’ll get nowhere} Instead, treat them with respect. That fear has been instilled to keep you safe from a perceived danger. From their perspective, you made it this far because of how well they did their job. So approach them with kindness and respect. {I’ve actually always loved that feeling of light flickering through trees} and today it gave me a message to share with you. You don’t have to experience more shade than light. You can experience it as more light or all light. It’s not about gleefully ignoring the past but making peace with it. Making peace with your past self who thought that this was the only way to get to have a baby. Making peace with all the shitty times you’ve been through on this fertility journey. Honestly, you did it all out of desire but from a place of lack. You’ve been lacking the deep seeded (yes seeded) knowing that you are meant to be a mother and that reality is possible because you can see it 💫 {it’s okay to fall apart} the more we feel into our despair, feel that sadness and hopelessness, the more we can shift it. {every chance I get} when I’m in a moment that feels like magic. I remember conjuring this feeling when trying for a baby. Hanging with my child day to day. Hanging on the floor, going for walks, holding them in my arms. So when I get moments like this now that he’s here, I soak it all up 🥰 {call your power back} if you’re plugging into all the things that people say you should / shouldn’t do and spend all your energy believing their word over your own you’ve left no space to connect in with yourself. Which means that you can’t hear your own inner intuitive voice. THAT is the voice we need to listen to. That voice will tell you the next best step towards your baby. The next best step will feel calm and expansive. If it makes you feel heavy and dense then maybe you’re stuck in someone else’s version of your pathway to motherhood. Plug your energy back into YOU. You are the power that you need. . {same same same} so when you think about your fertility and becoming pregnant and having a baby does it feel free and expansive or does it feel scary and limiting? The unknown can be scary but it’s exactly the point of creation. That blank canvas is yours to paint. You get to create a vision for your life and your family. That’s the beauty of the unknown, you can paint it with expectations of fear and stress OR you can paint it with vibrancy and joy.
